All set. You have everything Personify normally asks for.
What happens to your credit
Step 1: soft inquiry
No effect on your score
Used to show you offers. Only you can see it on your report. You can stop here at no cost.
Step 2: hard inquiry
May lower your score a little
Happens only if you pick an offer and submit the application. It stays on your report for two years.
Six common reasons for a no
Your debts are too high for your income
Lenders compare your monthly debt payments with your income. If too much is already spoken for, another payment looks risky, however good your intentions.
Your income could not be verified
Irregular deposits, cash income or a bank login that would not connect can all stop an application. Pay stubs or benefit letters sometimes fix it.
Your checking account shows strain
Frequent overdrafts or returned payments suggest the next payment may bounce too.
Recent missed payments or a bankruptcy
Personify accepts damaged credit, but very recent delinquencies weigh heavily.
Details did not match
A mistyped Social Security number, an old address or a name that differs from your bank account can trigger an automatic decline.
Your state is not covered
Personify lends in 27 states. Outside them, the application cannot proceed.
What to do after a denial
- Read the notice. By law the lender must tell you its main reasons, or how to request them.
- Get your free credit report. A denial based on your report entitles you to a free copy from that bureau within 60 days.
- Dispute anything wrong. Errors are common and fixing one can change the outcome.
- Try a different kind of lender. A credit union or a lender that allows a co-borrower may say yes.
- Or send one request here. Our form works with lenders for $200 to $5,000.

Frequently asked questions
What are the requirements for a Personify loan?
You need to live in one of the 27 states Personify serves, be of legal age, have a Social Security number, a checking account in your name with online banking, and income that can be verified. Personify then reviews your credit.
What credit score does Personify require?
Personify does not publish a minimum score. Third-party reviewers place the practical floor in the 500s. Your income, job history and bank account activity are weighed alongside the score.
Does Personify verify income?
Yes. You sign in to your bank through a secure third-party service so deposits can be confirmed, and you may be asked for pay stubs or other documents.
Why was my Personify application denied?
The most common reasons are debt that is too high for your income, income that could not be verified, recent missed payments, or details that did not match. The lender must send you a notice with its main reasons.
